Activated by moisture in the digestive tract, the extended release system slowly releases layers of glucosamine providing a constant supply of glucosamine to the joints. Other glucosamine formulas are released quickly and are only available to the horse for a shorter period of time. Research has shown that extended release formulas can extend the action of the active ingredient in the body.
